This EHS Specialist role supports environmental health and safety initiatives at a busy manufacturing facility featuring rotating machinery, cutting tools, heat bars, and industrial ovens. The position focuses on maintaining regulatory compliance for air and water permits while strengthening safety programs and building a proactive safety culture across operations.You will conduct hazard assessments, lead incident investigations, deliver training, and track key metrics to drive continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental stewardship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with environmental permit reporting and maintain compliance documentation for air and water permits
- Conduct hazard assessments for machinery, thermal, and chemical hazards while supporting OSHA compliance efforts
- Participate in incident investigations, track safety metrics including TRIR and DART, and identify improvement trends
- Deliver safety training sessions, maintain accurate records, and assist with SOP development
- Support emergency planning, drills, and facility safety inspections
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field
2+ years of EHS or manufacturing experience
Strong knowledge of OSHA compliance, including 1910 standards and recordkeeping requirements
Experience with environmental permit management and regulatory reporting
Ability to work in active manufacturing environments with machinery and chemical exposure
Preferred:
CSP, ASP, or CIH certification
Prior experience in manufacturing or industrial facilities
Background in environmental permit management and compliance
