What we're looking for:
We need someone with 5+ years of production TypeScript experience who has led small engineering teams with a player-coach mentality. You should be comfortable owning features end-to-end in a fast-moving seed-stage environment and have a track record of shipping mission-critical B2B applications. Bonus points if you've scaled engineering teams at early-stage startups or have experience building AI-powered products.
What you'll do:
Ship full vertical slices across a TypeScript monorepo - schema migration, backend service, frontend component - in a single PR.
Drive a clean-room rebuild from a legacy no-code platform to a hand-crafted TypeScript monorepo, defining the architecture and patterns every future engineer inherits.
Lead and mentor a small team of engineers (3-5 people) through code review, architectural guidance, and pairing - setting the quality bar while spending the majority of your time as an individual contributor.
Establish AI-assisted development practices that scale with the team, leveraging tools like Claude Code, Cursor, and Copilot as core parts of the development workflow.
Integrate with complex third-party systems including property management systems, smart locks, payment processors, and high-frequency telemetry pipelines.
Build for a multi-region, data-residency-sensitive product serving operators running thousands of hospitality units.

Engineering is mid-rebuild, migrating from a legacy no-code platform to a modern TypeScript monorepo with NestJS on the backend. - 5+ years of production TypeScript experience
- 2+ years leading engineers with a player-coach mentality
- Experience with TypeScript, NestJS, and React is essential; backend-leaning preferred
- 5-8 years building mission-critical B2B applications
- Built production B2B SaaS applications end-to-end
- Led or participated in system migration/rebuild projects
- Strong AI integration skills; must use multi-agent systems effectively
- Heavy daily use of AI coding agents (multi-agent workflows)
- Previous experience scaling engineering teams at seed or early-stage startups preferred
- Strong relational DB skills: schema design, migrations, query optimization
- Full-stack backend-leaning: infrastructure, APIs, and React frontend
- Monorepo architecture with end-to-end type safety
- High ownership and decision-making skills
- Vertical SaaS, hospitality, or proptech domain experience a plus
- IoT telemetry, event pipelines, or offline-first mobile experience a plus
