Seeking a Senior Powertrain Engineer with 3+ years of experience to own the design, integration, and improvement of high voltage drivetrain systems with a primary focus on electric motors. This hands-on role involves working across the full product lifecycle from concept through production in a fast-moving hardware team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the design and development of HV drivetrain systems, with primary focus on electric motors, inverters, and motor control strategies
- Select, characterize, and qualify motors and inverters for traction and auxiliary applications, including supplier evaluation and bring-up
- Perform hands-on work with drivetrain hardware including designing, building, and integrating systems
- Drive safety case development and validation for drivetrain and HV components, ensuring compliance with ISO 26262 and relevant HV safety standards
- Collaborate cross-functionally with firmware, thermal, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to deliver a reliable, high-performance drivetrain
3 to 12 years of experience in electric motor systems, inverters, and drivetrain engineering
Electric motor and drivetrain design experience at an EV company
Experience taking HV drivetrain hardware from concept through production
Startup or small-team environment experience
Hands-on expertise with PMSM, BLDC, or induction motors and inverter hardware
HV power electronics experience including DC/DC converters, motor drives, and SiC/IGBT
Motor control theory knowledge including torque/speed control and encoder feedback
