This Quality Engineer role supports a dedicated manufacturing value stream by ensuring consistent product quality, meeting customer requirements, and driving continuous improvement. You will lead customer complaint resolution, manage PPAP and FAI processes, conduct audits, and develop inspection programs using CMM and vision systems. The position plays a key role in maintaining compliance to ISO 9001, AS9100, and IATF 16949 standards while fostering a culture of quality across cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead investigation and resolution of customer quality concerns including root cause analysis, corrective actions, and effectiveness validation
- Manage customer approval activities such as PPAPs, FAIs, annual validations, and timely responses to requests
- Maintain compliance with quality management systems and applicable standards including ISO 9001, AS9100, and IATF 16949
- Lead internal and supplier audit activities, addressing findings and implementing improvements
- Drive continuous improvement through development of Control Plans, PFMEAs, inspection methods, and corrective action initiatives
- Develop and maintain inspection strategies, CMM and vision system programs, and quality verification processes
- Support nonconformance management, MRB activities, and implementation of sustainable solutions
- Serve as primary quality representative for the assigned value stream, partnering with manufacturing, engineering, supply chain, and commercial teams
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or related discipline)
3-5 years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment
Experience auditing processes and suppliers to standards such as ISO 9001, AS9100, and IATF 16949
Experience utilizing CMMs, vision systems, and other inspection and measurement technologies
Working knowledge of statistical quality control including SPC and MSA
Experience working with automotive customers and quality tools including PPAP, APQP, and FMEA
Experience conducting Gauge R&R studies
Strong knowledge of GD&T and measurement techniques
