About the role

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer with 2+ years of experience building physical hardware to join our lean, high-impact team designing the next generation of solar-powered camera systems for highway infrastructure. You're someone who has owned a full PCB design end-to-end, seen your hardware fail in the real world, and learned from it. The company is scaling from dozens of deployed units to hundreds across the country, and we need methodical, hands-on engineers who can make our hardware more robust, reliable, and manufacturable. This is a role for someone who thrives in ambiguity, loves getting their hands dirty, and is excited to solve open-ended problems, from designing circuits to testing them in the field.

What will you be doing?

- Designing, iterating, and testing PCBs and circuits in Altium, owning the full lifecycle from schematic capture through manufacturing and field deployment

- Working in the electronics lab with oscilloscopes, power supplies, and other test equipment to debug and validate hardware

- Improving hardware robustness and reliability to support nationwide scaling of solar-powered camera systems under tight power budgets

- Writing embedded C/C++ or Python code to test, spin up, and validate hardware designs

- Collaborating across embedded systems, operations, and software teams, and occasionally traveling quarterly for field installations and calibration

Requirements

- 2+ years in hardware electrical engineering, with PCB design end-to-end using Altium or similar CAD tools
- Hands-on experience with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and lab test equipment
- Proficiency with embedded C/C++ and/or Python for hardware bring-up and validation
- Familiarity with common interfaces such as SPI, I2C, UART, Ethernet, and CAN
- Experience with solar/battery power systems, Raspberry Pi, ESP32, Linux, or similar embedded platforms is a plus
- Comfort working across schematic capture, layout, manufacturing, and field deployment
