We are looking for a Founding Principal Full Stack Engineer with 5-10+ years of experience to join as the 3rd or 4th engineer at an early-stage startup building software for psychotherapy practices. You'll own major product verticals end-to-end, from practice analytics and AI-powered insights to EHR integrations, working directly with the co-founders to shape both the product and engineering culture from the ground up.
What will you be doing?
Owning entire product verticals end-to-end: roadmap, architecture, execution, and production operations.
Building AI-powered analytics and tooling that gives practice operators superpowers to support 40+ practices instead of 1-2.
Managing parallel Claude Code/Codex agent sessions to ship at dramatically higher velocity.
Architecting and deploying full-stack features (Python/React) on AWS infrastructure with no dedicated DevOps support.
Making product decisions autonomously, identifying opportunities, forming opinions, and shipping without waiting for specs.
Must be based in or willing to relocate to New York City; in-person expected.
- 5-10+ years of full-stack engineering experience with product ownership
- Has built and shipped a product end-to-end (zero-to-one ownership, not just feature work within a larger team)
- Sophisticated agentic AI workflow: deeply integrated Claude Code/Codex with parallel sessions and custom tooling, not casual copilot use
- Full-stack fluency across frontend and backend: must have built from scratch, not just maintained
- Experience with AWS, Docker, and full-stack development; bonus for AI and analytics integration
- Has built product-facing analytics features and production features integrating AI
- Experience at a high-growth startup OR a top-tier tech company
- High agency and ownership mindset: operates without waiting to be told what to do; comfortable with early-stage intensity
- System design skills and AI fluency essential
- Must be based in or willing to relocate to New York City; in-person expected
