We are looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer with 2-5 years of experience to join a fast-scaling AI startup as a fast-moving generalist who bridges the gap between our platform and what frontier AI lab customers need. You will handle ad hoc customer requests: shaping data, spinning up dashboards, handcrafting RL tasks, and building quick features, all on tight timelines at the cutting edge of post-training and agent research.
What will you be doing?
Shaping data created by human experts to fit the specific requirements of frontier AI lab customers
Building quick plugins, features, or temporary improvements to existing systems for data collection
Handcrafting reinforcement learning task samples tailored to customer needs
Spinning up customer-facing interfaces like dashboards and portals on short timelines
Identifying when one-off custom builds should be generalized into the core platform
- 2-5 years of experience in full-stack software engineering in fast-paced environments
- Shipped production software at a fast-paced, high-growth VC-backed company
- Strong TypeScript and Python skills; full-stack generalist across backend services, data pipelines, and frontend interfaces
- Able to work on-site 5x/week in New York, NY
- Preferred background: mix of big tech and high-growth startup experience, or founded a VC-backed company for 18+ months
- Experience translating customer needs into fast technical solutions such as custom features, integrations, dashboards, or data workflows
- Experience with evals, task design, or LLM-judged scoring
- Strong customer-facing skills and ability to iterate quickly based on customer needs
- Familiarity with TypeScript, Python, Go, Vercel, Supabase, and AWS
- BS in Computer Science or related STEM field from a top 25 undergrad CS program
