We are looking for a Design Engineer with 1+ years of experience to build the UI for the platform powering the AI agents of the future at an early-stage AI startup. You are obsessive about user experience, sweat the small details, and believe great products are built from millions of tiny perfected parts. You live at the bleeding edge of web and browser technology and have strong opinions about frameworks, rendering models, and where the web is going. You are high agency, fiercely independent, and have shipped amazing work that speaks for itself. This is a rare opportunity to join a small YC-backed team building the infrastructure layer for agentic AI.
What you will be doing:
Designing and building the core UI for our AI agent platform using React, TypeScript, and modern web frameworks. Crafting pixel-perfect, responsive, and accessible interfaces with exceptional attention to motion, animation, and interaction design. Optimizing frontend performance - obsessing over core web vitals, bundling strategies, and loading states. Making key technical decisions around RSC, streaming, styling approaches, and frontend architecture. Collaborating closely with the engineering team to ship production-ready features that make complex AI agent workflows feel simple and delightful.
About the company:
We are an early-stage AI startup building infrastructure for an agent-native economy. Our small, talent-dense San Francisco team works on the platform layer that helps developers connect models to tools and deploy production-ready agents.
