We are looking for a Field Engineer with 0-10 years of experience to own qualified opportunities end-to-end, shaping technical outcomes with customers, pricing engagements, and closing deals. You will join a team of 10 field engineers at an AI-powered digital transformation company and AWS Premier Tier Partner, where the field engineering team is the primary closer on multimillion-dollar engagements with uncapped commission.
What will you be doing?
Taking qualified, inbound opportunities from the GTM team and leading all remaining customer discussions through deal closure.
Translating ambiguous customer problem statements into concrete, scoped technical outcomes with defined pricing.
Building POCs and prototypes to validate solutions in front of customers across AWS, Databricks, OpenAI, and Anthropic.
Writing statements of work, pricing engagements using a capacity model, and closing deals.
Handing shaped outcomes to the applied research team for delivery, then moving on to your next deal.
This is a remote role with travel up to about 20% across the United States. Field Engineers are crucial in pre-sales, responsible for envisioning solutions, architecting outcomes, and closing deals while interfacing with GTM and delivery teams.
- Experience in a hybrid customer-facing and technical role (about 90% pre-sales / 10% post-sales)
- Travel up to ~20% in a month across the United States
- 0-10 years of experience as a field engineer, forward-deployed engineer, or solutions architect
- Owned technical pre-sales (discovery, solution architecture, pricing, POCs/prototypes, and closing)
- Strong technical background (software engineer OR a computer science degree)
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business value for non-technical stakeholders
- Experience working with AWS
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage ambiguity
- Technical depth with eagerness to learn and grow
- BS in CS or STEM-related field
