We are looking for an Engineering Manager, Object Storage with 8+ years of engineering experience and 2+ years of people management experience to build and lead a team creating a greenfield object storage product on a leading developer cloud platform. You'll combine deep technical leadership with product thinking to ship a scalable, developer-loved storage system at a company trusted by millions of developers worldwide.
What will you be doing?
Build and lead a team of engineers to design, develop, and launch an object storage product from the ground up.
Drive technical direction and system design decisions, navigating architectural tradeoffs for stateful, distributed services.
Partner with Product, Design, and Infra teams to translate customer needs into a clear roadmap and shipped features.
Mentor and develop engineers through hiring, feedback, and performance management.
Foster a culture of ownership and continuous improvement while balancing speed with reliability and quality.
- 8+ years of hands-on engineering experience shipping products, ideally including stateful services or distributed systems
- 2+ years of people management experience including hiring, mentorship, and performance management
- Strong technical depth: able to engage meaningfully in system design, architecture, and engineering tradeoffs (not a pure people manager)
- Product-oriented mindset with experience translating business goals and user needs into engineering roadmaps
- Experience building products for developer platforms, cloud infrastructure, DevTools, or highly scalable distributed systems
