We are looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer with 5-8 years of experience to own end-to-end customer delivery for our most strategic accounts in the robotics and frontier AI space. You'll be the single technical owner for a portfolio of top-tier customers, including leading humanoid companies and AI unicorns, ensuring the data we ship actually moves their model performance. This is a founding FDE role where you'll help define the forward-deployed motion from the ground up. We need someone with a strong engineering bar who thrives in ambiguity, can solve most customer issues independently, and communicates complex technical concepts in a way that makes customers feel confident and supported. Think Palantir-style FDE: deeply technical, high agency, and excellent with customers.
What will you be doing?
Own end-to-end data delivery for strategic customers: understand the overall data pipeline, ensure data quality, scope requirements, QA before shipping, and clear blockers independently
Be the first technical responder for your accounts: triage customer questions and issues, resolve most problems without escalating to other engineers, and manage expectations on timelines
Represent our technical depth to sophisticated robotics and AI customers while translating complex concepts into language that's easy to understand and builds trust
Turn recurring customer needs and delivery pain points into concrete product and pipeline improvements, codifying what works into reusable playbooks
Grow the forward-deployed motion: as the role matures, lead platform-integration engagements and model fine-tuning / evaluation services for enterprise customers
- Experience at customer-facing engineering roles at highly technical, enterprise, or S-tier companies (Palantir, Snowflake, etc.)
- Strong production coding and problem-solving skills (Python preferred)
- Ability to independently troubleshoot and resolve technical customer issues
- Strong customer communication, technical translation, and collaboration skills
- 5-8 years of experience as a customer-facing SWE or Forward Deployed Engineer (strong candidates with 3+ years from companies like Palantir or Snowflake considered)
- Founding engineer or startup founder experience preferred
- Experience in robotics or embodied AI a plus
- Blend of technical and communication skills, with preference for stronger technical abilities
- Proactive problem solver with background in leading technical environments or founding roles
- Preferred backgrounds include top technical schools and technical roles at high-demand companies
- Familiarity with data pipelines, AI/ML, MCAP, and HDF5 a plus
