We are looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer with 2-5 years of experience to serve as the first line of defense for our highest-value customers, owning the full cycle from triaging bugs and shipping fixes to building technical rapport and championing the customer experience. You'll join a small, high-caliber team at a fast-scaling cybersecurity startup that needs talented, customer-facing engineers to maintain a premium product experience as the business grows.
What will you be doing?
Be the primary point of contact for our largest accounts, absorbing every inbound question, bug report, and feature request.
Turn around bug fixes and incremental product improvements quickly while embedded with high-value customers.
Sit with the engineering team to deeply understand detection, the product backend, and hard vs. soft constraints so you can interface credibly with customers.
Lead initial product discovery for new features based on real customer pain points, then roll improvements back into the codebase.
Represent the company's technical capabilities externally, including trade shows and technical demos, in collaboration with the go-to-market team.
- 2-5 years of experience in fullstack engineering (TypeScript, Python) with direct customer interaction
- Preferably customer-facing experience and strong technical skills; FDE experience at Palantir or similar forward-deployed roles at high-growth startups is a plus
- Open to strong candidates with less experience and to seasoned engineers transitioning to individual contributor roles
- Proficiency in Python, React, and TypeScript; can write and ship production code
- Experience building 0-to-1 (e.g., founded a company or was an early engineer at a startup building new products)
- Experience shipping bug fixes and iterative improvements from customer feedback
- Customer-facing technical work: has directly engaged with customers to discover pain points and build solutions (not just support/config work)
- Identifies problems and ships solutions independently without waiting for direction; comfortable owning ambiguous scope end-to-end
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with engineering and go-to-market teams
- Available for up to 25% travel (e.g., trade shows, client embeds)
- CS or closely related technical degree required (top-30 CS program preferred); consulting/IB archetype candidates must demonstrably write and ship code
