We need someone with 3+ years of experience building iOS apps in Swift who has taken a mobile app from zero to one and through the Apple App Store release process. You should be comfortable owning a codebase that a whole team will build on, writing solid code with or without AI tools, and working five days a week in person in New York. You also need to show a real, active interest in trading, such as trading yourself or building trading side projects. Bonus points if you've worked on real-time data, fintech, or crypto apps (for example Robinhood or crypto-native apps) or have a public portfolio or GitHub of iOS work.
What you'll do
Build the company's first mobile trading app from the ground up. It's a full trading experience with live market data, complex order types, and trading across multiple venues, not a simplified pocket app.
Own the mobile architecture and set a solid foundation that future mobile engineers can build on, where nothing can break, go down, or get a decimal place wrong.
Work closely with the founders and the front-end engineering team to bring the web trading experience to mobile with consistent design and functionality.
Build gesture-driven UI and fast, interactive charts that fit the information of a professional trading terminal onto a small screen without overwhelming users.
Connect to REST APIs and WebSocket streams, handle reconnection and synchronized live price feeds, and manage cached state on the device so the app stays responsive when markets get volatile.
Build native mobile wallet integrations, biometric authentication, transaction signing, and secure key storage on the device.
Lead the full App Store release cycle, from provisioning to review to production, and set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated builds, previews, testing, and rollbacks.
Over time, mentor and lead less experienced mobile engineers as the team grows.
